Police Officer Training Sessions

08th Jul 2011

I’ve been part of the Autism Oxford team delivering training sessions to Police Officers, and they have gone very well indeed.  The Officers got a lot out of listening to people on the Autism Spectrum and appreciated being able to discuss their perspective and some of the problems they face as Police Officers.  It was a positive experience and everybody, ie the speakers and the police, got a lot out of the sessions.  I’m looking forward to delivering more training to Police Officers. Dave Whittle from Cowley emailed to thank us for the training as per email below

Kathryn,

Thanks for one of the most interesting and thought provoking inputs we’ve had on training days. I’m not sure if you are still actively giving this training but (and I am sure you are aware of this incident) the metpol job would be a good example to how we get it wrong

Matt, FYI for future internal discussions

Dave
